Daniel Jaramillo is an aspiring music journalist who regularly contributes concert and album reviews to Loud Magazine, Radio Blue Mountains 89.1 and The Australian Times Music Magazine. You can find him online through his blog “Thinking Critically about Culture”; at his day job with UNICEF Australia or at all hours of the night at some Metal, Jazz or Hip Hop venue. Although it would appear to be an easy gig, going to all those concerts, notebook in hand is in fact quite an art. He aims to vividly report the moments that best express the atmosphere, drama, humour and tension of the night and for that you need to be much more than just a punter enjoying the music, you need to be obsessed not just with music but its message, culture, trends, social and political relevance and much more… Daniel is a Sydney Uni graduate in philosophy and cultural studies, finished high school at the Australian Institute of Music and also works as a Music Programmer booking artists to perform at 107 Projects in Redfern.
